Client: Microsoft UK
Project: Content development for UK websites, incl. bCentral
Services: Creative copy, content development

We have worked on the Microsoft brand since 1996, when we developed a series of CD-ROMS to introduce home users to the brand and the Internet during our Benson Cairns South Africa days. On relocating to London, we were engaged first by Zinc and later by AKQA to provide content and creative copy for a variety of Microsoft sites and brands, including Small Business, Business, Enterprise, Windows and Office. We have also been approached by a variety of Microsoft agencies and partners to provide content for their projects, including most recently the development of online course material relating to Microsoft products and small business issues for a New Zealand content provider.

In 2000, we were engaged by Microsoft UK to provide creative copy and content for the UK bCentral pilot site, Microsoft’s small business portal between 2000 and 2006. Content included general small business tips and how to’s, UK small business information and resources, and advice regarding how to get the most out of the Microsoft products most relevant to the small business sector. The content we developed was repurposed across the international bCentral sites, and the UK editorial team continued to rotate the content until bCentral was replaced by the Microsoft Small Business Centre in 2006.
